We’ve been turning our brains over how to get CLEAR ice for your Whiskey Baller Ice Press. In fact, this was one of the most important parts for us when we created this novelty gift, a fine piece of machinery. Thankfully, we figured out a way to do it that’s inexpensive, and takes little-to-no extra work. Through directional freeze, we have created a little something called the 3 Cup Method.
What you need:
Step 1: Stack all three cups together, with the plastic one being on top, small stainless cup in middle, vacuum cup on the bottom Step 2: Fill the top cup with water, keep about an inch clearing at the top. (fill to top of the logo on the cup) (PROTIP: bottled water makes for slightly better ice, tap water is usually aerated by the screen on the faucet, adding too much air into the water. (air creates cloudy ice) Step 3: Put in freezer for 24 hours or until frozen Step 4: Once frozen, remove the bottom vacuum cup by giving a swift tap on the table. (sometimes the vacuum cup will freeze to the stainless middle cup if these cups are not dry when put into freezer) Step 5: Run warm water over the stainless steel, middle cup for around 10 seconds, This will allow you to remove the cup easier. Step 6: There is going to be murky ice frozen on the bottom of the plastic cup, discard that. It can simply be knocked off or broken off by tapping on the edge of a sink. Step 7: Inside the plastic cup is your clear ice! Dislodge from the plastic cup, and get to pressing. Yes, it is actually that easy. 3 cups, 7 steps. That’s it. Hardly takes up any room in your freezer. And creates fairly clear ice, every time. You can purchase your own stainless steel cups online and punch holes in your own plastic cup, or you can head over to our store and purchase all three parts together. We believe EVERY ice ball you press should be clear. That’s why we INCLUDE this "clear ice kit' with every Whiskey Barrel Ice Baller ice press at no additional price.
